Why it matters
Zoom on June 1 introduced ZoomMate, an agentic AI work surface designed to connect workplace conversations with business systems and workflows. The offering is built around Zoom’s previously announced “system of action” strategy, which aims to transform conversations into completed work.
“What drew me to Zoom was a simple truth: no other company sits where Zoom sits—at the center of every conversation where work decisions get made,” Zoom chief product officer Russell Dicker said in a press statement.
“ZoomMate is built on this insight. Before, during, and after the meeting, ZoomMate connects what was decided to what needs to happen next across every system where your work lives,” he added.
The big picture
Enterprises are increasingly looking for AI tools that can bridge information silos and automate actions across multiple platforms. ZoomMate integrates with systems including Salesforce, Jira, ServiceNow, Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft tools, and Workday, allowing users to search enterprise data, coordinate workflows, and generate deliverables from meeting context.
Industry analysts see growing demand for AI platforms that operate closer to where business decisions are made.
“The market is moving away from isolated AI helpers and toward tools that can better connect decisions, data, and workflows across an organization,” vice president and principal analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy Melody Brue said.
“Many AI offerings operate on the edges of work, with limited access to the real-time context affecting decisions. ZoomMate approaches this differently because it sits inside the conversations where those decisions unfold. This can give it live business context and help make its recommendations more grounded in the work that teams are actually doing,” Brue added.
What’s next
ZoomMate is now available to online and direct customers in North America starting at $20 per user per month, with broader regional availability expected later this year.
