The platform gives teams access to FIFA tournament data and analysis through detailed reports, visual graphs, video clips and immersive match animations, Lenovo said in a company release.
How it works
Built through Lenovo’s AI Factory and xIQ agent platform, FIFA AI Pro uses multiple AI agents to process millions of data points and analyze more than 2,000 football metrics.
The system can respond to multilingual queries, recognize football terminology and related concepts, perform calculations and generate contextual analysis in minutes. It also offers 3D match recreations that allow teams to review actions from different positions on the field.
Lenovo said the technology gives smaller football nations access to advanced analysis that was previously available mainly to teams with larger resources and specialist support.
The bigger picture
The expanded tournament produced several notable performances from underdogs and first-time participants.
Cabo Verde drew with Spain and pushed Argentina into extra time in the round of 32. Curaçao held Ecuador to a draw, while Congo DR secured draws against Colombia and Portugal. Ghana also drew with England, while Paraguay eliminated four-time champion Germany.
While the results were influenced by several factors, access to FIFA AI Pro allowed every participating team to use the same AI-powered tools when studying opponents and preparing match strategies.
“The success of FIFA AI Pro at the FIFA World Cup 2026 has marked the beginning of a new era in match analysis and preparation. By automating the search, organization and interpretation of vast amounts of match data and video content, the experts can now spend less time searching for information or manually cutting footage and more time focusing on what truly matters: performance insights, tactical decision-making and helping teams gain a competitive edge”, FIFA chief of global football development Arsène Wenger said.

“This has helped level the playing field at this unique tournament, where we have seen the challengers compete with the established favorites on the world’s biggest stage.” Wong added. —Princess Daisy C. Ominga| Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
