The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) have initiated a series of learning sessions, supported by the United States Agency for International Development, to update and shape future artificial intelligence (AI) legislation.

These sessions, aimed at informing policymakers and stakeholders, discuss the integration and regulation of AI technologies to maximize benefits while mitigating risks.

As AI continues to evolve, the goal is to craft policies that ensure ethical usage and encourage innovation within a competitive business landscape, NEDA explained in a statement.

This initiative represents a crucial step towards comprehensive AI governance, fostering a safer and more productive technological environment in the Philippines, the agency added.
