Insider Spotlight
TMP has yet to confirm specific launches for the June 4 to 7 event at the World Trade Center Manila. However, the company said visitors will be able to see “the latest Toyota vehicles set for launch this year,” adding fuel to speculation that the compact off-roader could finally make its first Philippine appearance.
The Land Cruiser FJ, which has generated strong interest globally since reports of its development surfaced, is expected to expand Toyota’s off-road portfolio below the Land Cruiser Prado. A Philippine unveiling would give Toyota a headline-grabbing addition to a market where demand for rugged SUVs remains strong.
Why it matters
The timing aligns with Toyota’s broader effort to emphasize customer choice through its “Toyota Choice” campaign, the central theme of its PIMS 2026 exhibit.
Visitors to the Toyota booth will be introduced to a range of mobility options, including internal combustion engine vehicles, diesel-powered models, hybrid electric vehicles, and battery electric vehicles. The strategy reflects Toyota’s Multi-Pathway approach, which seeks to offer different technologies based on varying customer needs and use cases.
Reading between the lines
While Toyota’s official announcements focus on mobility solutions and ownership support, the company’s statement that guests will be able to see upcoming models up close is likely to draw attention from enthusiasts hoping for a Land Cruiser FJ reveal.
Adding to the attraction, Toyota Choice ambassadors Ben&Ben will perform live at the Toyota booth on June 5 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., helping drive foot traffic to what could become one of the most closely watched exhibits at the motor show.
What to watch
Beyond potential product launches, Toyota will offer public test drives, showcase its T-OPT parts brand, and feature Gazoo Racing displays, including a modified GR Supra and GR Corolla.
On top of the Land Cruiser FJ's anticipated debut, Toyota appears set to use PIMS 2026 to reinforce its leadership in both traditional and electrified mobility while keeping enthusiasts guessing about its next major SUV launch. —Daxim L. Lucas | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
