Security Bank joins FTSE Asia Pacific Small Cap Index

Security Bank Corp. has been added to the FTSE Asia Pacific Small Cap Index, a move that enhances its visibility to international investors and underscores its strong performance in the Philippine banking sector.

The inclusion was announced during FTSE Russell’s September 2025 quarterly review and took effect after market close on Sept. 19. The index is widely used by global institutional investors as a benchmark for portfolio decisions.

Joining a $7-trillion global small-cap framework

“This recognition underscores the trust that investors continue to place in Security Bank,” said Sanjiv Vohra, president and CEO. “Our commitment to delivering BetterBanking and creating long-term value for clients, communities, and shareholders is now being validated on a global stage.”

The FTSE Asia Pacific Small Cap Index is part of the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (GEIS), which tracks large-, mid-, small-, and micro-cap stocks across developed and emerging markets. The broader Global Small Cap Index covers more than 5,800 companies with a combined market capitalization of around $7 trillion.

FTSE Russell applies transparent, rules-based criteria in selecting index constituents, ensuring that companies meet liquidity and investability standards. The indices are rebalanced quarterly to reflect changing market conditions.

From local strength to global visibility

Security Bank was one of only a handful of Philippine firms included in the latest review, reflecting its growing relevance to international investors who track FTSE indices for exposure to emerging markets.

“As we celebrate our 74th anniversary this year, being part of the FTSE Asia Pacific Small Cap Index reinforces our mission to be the most customer-centric bank in the Philippines,” Vohra said.

“We see this milestone not only as market recognition but also as an inspiration to continue innovating and putting customers at the heart of everything we do.” —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
