The leadership team shared updates on Citi's business performance, opportunities across its franchise, and the Philippines' strategic importance within the bank's global network.
The discussions underscored Citi's continued focus on supporting clients while leveraging its international footprint to unlock cross-border opportunities.
Why it matters
For nearly 125 years, Citi has worked with public and private sector clients in the Philippines through periods of economic transformation, expansion, and innovation.
The bank said in a statement it remains committed to helping clients grow by connecting them with opportunities across international markets through its global institutional banking platform.
The bank also recently hosted a Philippine investor roundtable at its New York City headquarters, bringing together Finance Secretary Frederick Go, National Treasurer Sharon Almanza, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Deputy Governor Zeno Abenoja, Philippine Consul General Senen Mangalile, and other senior officials to discuss the country's economic outlook and investment opportunities.
By the numbers
Citi's global momentum has been reinforced by its 2026 Investor Day, where the firm outlined progress in simplifying and modernizing its organization, improving execution, and strengthening connectivity across its businesses.
The bank recently reported its strongest quarterly revenue performance in a decade and said it has established a path toward stronger and more sustainable returns.
According to Citi, its global network and interconnected businesses are generating higher-quality revenues while delivering greater value for clients worldwide.
The recognition
Citi also earned Euromoney's recognition as the Philippines' Best Digital Bank for Large Corporates, reflecting the firm's continued investments in technology, digital capabilities, and client solutions for institutional customers.
"The progress Citi is delivering today reflects years of purposeful investment and consistent execution," Citi chief executive officer and banking head Paul Favila said.
"That momentum is reflected in our second quarter results, which marked Citi's best quarterly revenue in a decade, with revenues up 14 percent and double-digit growth across the firm and four of Citi's five core businesses,” Favila said.
“We've built stronger capabilities, deepened our client relationships, and are seeing the impact of those efforts in the momentum across our franchise. Leveraging the strength of our global network and institutional banking platform, we remain committed to delivering value for our clients and supporting the Philippines' continued growth and development," he added.—Ramon C.
