The industry giant also secured individual distinctions for its investment professionals at The Asset Benchmark Research Awards 2026, including the top two spots in international bond trading.
Management’s view
“These awards recognize Metrobank’s commitment to the growth and development of the fixed income market in the country. We are on a mission to set higher standards of professionalism and integrity. We are honored that our efforts are recognized by The Asset,” Toto Tansingco, Metrobank Financial Markets Sector head, said in a statement on Monday.
“This achievement would not have been possible without the trust and support of our local and global customers, both institutional, and retail who choose Metrobank as their partner. It also demonstrates the expertise, discipline, and market judgment of our people, who are strongly committed to helping clients take the opportunities and navigate through changing market conditions,” he added.
Individual standouts
Metrobank ranked first in the Local Currency Bonds and G3 Bonds categories, the latter covering bonds denominated in US dollars, euros and Japanese yen.
Metrobank Trust's Ginny Pecaña, head of investment services, was named among the Philippines' Most Astute Investors in the local bond category.
Investment execution officers Ivy May Mamauag, Mia Santiago and Seth Gamboa were also recognized for their performance in local bond trading.
Mamauag and Santiago went further, claiming the two highest individual rankings for G3 Bonds trading.
The annual awards, organized by Asia-based financial media and research firm The Asset, draw on assessments from analysts, economists, strategists, investors, sales professionals and traders across Asia.
