PlayTime Gaming is pushing back against claims that distorted its role as a sponsor and prompted local authorities to seek clarification.

PlayTime is one of the country’s biggest online gambling platforms.

It immediately cooperated with the inquiry and emphasized that it follows strict standards as an official global sponsor of the Miss Universe Organization, which was part of the  its moves to diversify into the entertainment space.

What happened?

Based on an early November report by the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Thai police confiscated promotional materials during Miss Universe Thailand activities after local organizers questioned how the Miss Universe Organization (MOU) handled certain sponsorships.

This stemmed from claims by franchise owner Nawat Itsaragrisil that MUO had promoted a sponsor linked to online casinos, an activity illegal in Thailand.

What PlayTime is saying

PlayTime clarified that its platform is not available in Thailand, with access blocked and no users, transactions, or marketing in the country.

It added that legal counsel in both the Philippines and Thailand confirmed no laws were violated.

“We regret the misunderstanding. This situation arose within broader issues surrounding the event, none of which involved our operations, and unfortunately led to PlayTime Gaming being drawn into discussions unrelated to us. While we are pleased to clarify the facts, we do not tolerate the spread of false information and reserve all rights to address any clearly defamatory claims,” the company said.

“PlayTime Gaming remains firmly committed to clarity, accountability, and full compliance in every market in which we operate,” it added.
