The figure beat the regional top-10 average of 80.83 percent, based on data from London-based aviation analytics firm Cirium.
“We laud the efforts of our engineers, ground and flight teams for working towards on-time performance through operational efficiency,” said Capt. Roland A. Narciso, PAL senior vice president for the operations group.
“In partnership with our aviation stakeholders, we remain steadfast in our commitment to further enhance on-time performance, a crucial factor for operational reliability, and customer satisfaction,” he added.
Looking closer at the data
Cirium is a London-based aviation analytics firm that has earned a reputation as a global authority on flight tracking and punctuality data.
Cirium only includes flights with complete and verified gate arrival data, counting a flight as on time if it reaches the gate within 15 minutes of schedule.
The company excludes flights with incomplete records or irregular operations to ensure consistency, making its punctuality rankings the most reliable benchmark across airlines.
PAL beat nine other carriers
PAL edged out competitors Singapore Airlines at 87.42 percent and Qantas at 85.14 percent.
During this period, Cirium tracked 9,628 Philippine Airlines flights in August 2025.
The number of flights Cirium tracks varies per airline, often due to differences in data completeness, route structures, and reporting standards.
