Starting November 24, the flag carrier will operate nonstop flights between Manila and Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport three times a week until March 27, 2026.
This seasonal route, paused since March 2020, will now resume with Airbus A321neo jets offering 168 seats—12 in business and 156 in economy.
“We are thrilled to announce the reopening of our direct flights from Manila to Sapporo, which will help us strengthen both bilateral relations and cultural ties with our Japanese counterparts," said PAL president Richard Nuttall.
"This route not only provides a convenient travel option for Filipino tourists and overseas workers, but also opens doors for Japanese travelers to explore and experience the Philippines’ vibrant culture and warm hospitality,” he added.
The move reflects PAL’s broader Japan strategy, as it already serves more points there than any other Philippine carrier, including Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Nagoya. The airline also plans to keep the Sapporo service as a regular winter offering in the years ahead.
Sapporo is famous for its snow festival, ski resorts, and food culture, making it a strong winter destination.
