In a statement, the company said this expansion aims to support the increasing demand for logistics services, particularly in e-commerce, freight, and cold-chain shipments across the Asia-Pacific region.
The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures including Joshua Bingcang, president and CEO of Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), Arrey Perez, president of Clark International Airport Corporation, and Noelle Meneses, vice president for business development at Clark Development Corporation (CDC).
The expanded facility will more than double the size of FedEx’s existing one, enhancing support for importers, exporters, and SMEs with improved access to international markets.
“This expansion is a testament to our strong commitment in facilitating cross-border trade and optimizing the country’s supply chain capabilities,” FedEx Philippines managing director Maribeth Espinosa said.
This strategic move aligns with BCDA, CDC, and LIPAD's vision of transforming Clark International Airport into a premier global logistics hub, boosting economic growth and job opportunities in northern Luzon.
In October 2021, FedEx first unveiled its gateway in Clark to boost support for local businesses and e-commerce growth. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the 17,000-square-meter facility has the capability to sort up to 9,000 parcels per hour and enables FedEx to provide customers with reliable service more efficiently. The facility’s dedicated freight-handling area spans 630 square meters.
