A new leader from the third generation of the Alcantara family is taking the helm of the group’s insurance unit, amid plans to further expand.
Marco C. Alcantara was appointed president and CEO of Alsons Insurance and Reinsurance Brokerage Corp. (AIRBC), effective July 1, 2024.
“[Marco] has been an active and dedicated member of our executive team, contributing significantly to our overall success. His extensive experience and proven leadership make him well-suited to drive AIRBC towards new horizons of innovation and success,” Alcantara Group chair Nicasio Alcantara said in an internal company letter.
Marco, who was the general manager of AIRBC, is charged with the further growth of the insurance and reinsurance business.
“We extend our sincere appreciation to [Marco] for his unwavering dedication and valuable contributions to the Alcantara Group. As he steps into this crucial leadership role, we encourage the entire Alcantara Group family to extend their full support and collaboration,” the letter showed.
The Alcantara Group, the parent company of listed Alsons Consolidated Resources, is a diversified holding company with a portfolio spanning power generation, agribusiness, construction, and real estate.
