The contract extension, which takes effect in January 2026, ensures continued production at Century Pacific’s coconut manufacturing facilities in General Santos, Mindanao—supporting 4,500 quality jobs and reinforcing the decade-long partnership between the two companies.
Long-term collaboration
“We value our long-standing relationship with Vita Coco – a win-win partnership that has grown meaningfully over the past decade,” Noel Tempongko Jr., vice president and general manager of CNPF’s OEM Coconut business, said in a statement. “We are pleased to extend our collaboration and look forward to scaling our collective impact.”
The new agreement builds on a 2024 incremental deal that covered an additional 90 million liters of coconut-based products over five years. This expansion led Century Pacific to invest about $40 million in acquiring Coco Harvest Inc., a coconut processing facility in Misamis Occidental, and to create over 1,500 new manufacturing jobs in the region.
Capacity expansion
Century Pacific first entered the coconut category in 2012 through its partnership with Vita Coco, growing into one of the American brand’s largest global suppliers. Strong alignment on quality, health standards, and sustainability has underpinned their collaboration.
In 2022, Century Pacific expanded its coconut production capacity by 50 percent to meet rising global demand driven by health and wellness trends. Both companies have also deepened their environmental and community commitments.
The statement quoted Jonathan Burth, COO of The Vita Coco Company, as saying, “we are pleased to continue our long-term partnership with Century Pacific. Our organizations share a common mission around quality, sustainability, and community impact—and together, we look forward to driving innovation, fueling growth, and creating lasting positive change.” — Ed: Corrie S.
