The new branch, located in Azuela Cove in Davao City, features a modern setup where customers can do quick transactions on digital kiosks while also getting help from staff for more complex needs.
It includes exclusive lounges and concierge services for preferred clients, showing BPI’s focus on both convenience and premium service.
Management’s view
“By combining our digital strength with the expertise of our financial advisors, we help clients grow their wealth and achieve financial wellness,” said Ma. Cristina “Ginbee” Go, BPI consumer banking head.
“Our phygital approach allows us to focus on understanding their unique needs and providing holistic solutions for their life goals,” she added.
The bank started rolling out phygital branches in 2023 to keep up with changing customer habits, as more Filipinos do their banking online but still want expert advice.
What’s next
So far, BPI has 55 phygital branches, 13 of which are prime versions like the new one in Davao. Some of these are also green-certified, meeting global standards for saving energy and water.
BPI plans to open 25 more phygital branches and eventually upgrade the rest of its network to this hybrid format over the next five years.
