Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. will cut its InstaPay transfer fee to P8 per transaction starting Feb. 1, 2026, marking its lowest rate to date.

The fee reduction applies to InstaPay transfers to other banks, down from the previous P25 per transaction.

Metrobank said the move is aimed at making digital payments cheaper for routine uses such as bills, household expenses, and small business transfers.

InstaPay transfers between Metrobank accounts will remain free of charge.

Consumer banking head Ramon Del Rosario said the lower fee is meant to make everyday digital payments more convenient for customers.

The cut places Metrobank among banks offering the lowest InstaPay fees as competition in digital banking intensifies.
