'A significant milestone': PAL earns APEX Four Star rating for 2026

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has clinched a new global badge of excellence, securing the coveted Four Star Major Airline rating from the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) for 2026.

The honor, announced at the APEX/IFSA Awards in Long Beach, California, places PAL alongside some of the world’s leading full-service carriers recognized for consistently delivering excellence in passenger care. 

“Being recognized by APEX, the world’s leading airline industry association, is a significant milestone for Philippine Airlines,” said Atty. Carlos Luis Fernandez, PAL executive vice president chief operating officer. 

“We remain steadfast in sustaining the highest standards of service for the welfare of the passengers we serve across our global network. The trust and confidence of our travelers inspire us to further elevate our service standards,” he added.

What sets PAL apart? 

The APEX awards are among the most respected in aviation, relying on verified passenger feedback across more than one million flights annually covering over 600 airlines. 

PAL’s recognition underscores its performance across cabin comfort, inflight dining, entertainment, connectivity, and customer service, categories where verified passenger reviews carry significant weight.

This latest honor adds to PAL’s growing list of industry accolades, including being named Southeast Asia’s second most preferred airline in the 2025 Flyers’ Choice Awards, a 2024 LinkedIn Talent Awardee for Best Employer Brand, and Cirium’s top on-time airline in Asia Pacific as of August 2025.
