Insider Spotlight
On June 26, Robinsons Retail's premium supermarket chain added its newest branch on the second floor of Molito Lifestyle Center in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, expanding its network in one of southern Metro Manila's established retail and dining districts.
Why it matters
Grocery retailers are increasingly positioning stores in mixed-use lifestyle developments to combine convenience with curated premium selections, responding to consumers looking for specialty products closer to where they live and socialize.
By the numbers
The store carries imported brands including Waitrose, Casino, Woolworths, and Meadows, alongside premium European, American, and Asian products.
It also features artisanal cheeses, premium cold cuts, jamón ibérico, a curated wine selection, health and beauty products, and Gourmet Bites, The Marketplace's customizable charcuterie service.
What they're saying
"This new store reflects our continued commitment to bringing a more elevated and globally inspired grocery experience closer to Filipino households," The Marketplace managing director for big formats of the food segment Christine Tueres said in a press statement.
"We aim to make premium everyday living more accessible—whether through specialty ingredients, imported favorites, exclusive wines, or unique lifestyle finds," she added.
The big picture
The company said the Molito branch was designed to complement its surroundings by offering a modern retail space that integrates grocery shopping with gourmet food, premium wines, curated beauty products, and specialty lifestyle offerings.
To mark the opening, the retailer offered one-day promotions that included up to 50 percent discounts on selected items, buy-one-take-one deals, and bundle offers across participating brands. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
