A year ago, Australia's beloved home and lifestyle brand, Anko, opened its first store in the Philippines, bringing with it a unique blend of Australian creativity and Filipino warmth. Fast forward to today, the brand is no longer just a newcomer — it has grown into a vibrant presence in countless Filipino homes.

Anko recently marked its first anniversary with a weekend of festivities, celebrating not only a milestone but also its deepening connection with the community.

The milestone was marked on Nov.  7, 2025, with a weekend-long celebration at Ayala Malls Glorietta, featuring creative zones, festive workshops, and an appearance by brand ambassador Anne Curtis

Events continued across Anko stores in TriNoma, Alabang Town Center, and Manila Bay, highlighting how the brand’s Australian creativity has blended with Filipino warmth.

A brighter first year

Since its launch, Anko has upheld its mission to brighten everyday living with stylish, affordable products spanning home, kitchen, toys, beauty, and pet essentials. With new arrivals every week, shoppers continually discover trendy, budget-friendly finds.

This year, the brand broadened its offerings to include small appliances, empowering Filipinos to upgrade and simplify their daily routines.

From its first store, Anko has grown to four branches — in Ayala Malls Glorietta, TriNoma, Alabang Town Center, and Ayala Malls Manila Bay — with a fifth set to open soon at Ayala Malls Feliz.

“It’s been such an exciting and fulfilling first year. We launched Anko with the goal of offering quality, design, and affordability all in one place, and the response from Filipino shoppers has been incredible, which inspired us to move forward,” shares Rachel Turner, country manager of Anko Philippines.

Insights from a year of Filipino connection

In its first year, Anko has gained meaningful insights into the Filipino way of life — discovering how deeply Filipinos value warmth, togetherness, and creating inviting homes for their families.

The brand has seen firsthand the country’s famously festive spirit and how it aligns with Anko’s mission to “make everyday living brighter.”

Guided by these learnings, Anko has been curating and designing products that reflect the Filipino lifestyle — practical yet stylish, family-oriented, and always value-driven.

The company has expanded its range of home décor and entertaining essentials to cater to the Filipino love for gatherings and celebrations, while also tailoring products to the local climate and daily routines for comfort and functionality.

“We’ve truly seen how famously festive and joyful Filipinos are. We’ve also learned how much they cherish creating warm, welcoming homes where their families can bond,” shares Turner.

“We are always listening to our customers, because our goal is to build a brand shaped by the needs and wants of Filipino families. Every insight helps us refine our selection so it feels more personal and meaningful for Filipino homes.”

Community and creativity

Anko strengthened its ties with the Filipino community this year through campaigns and in-store experiences that highlight love, family, and togetherness.

Its newly released Christmas Lookbook offers design inspiration and affordable ideas for home styling and gifting this holiday season.

The brand’s digital footprint continues to grow, with The Anko Club now counting over 34,000 members who enjoy exclusive perks and early access to collections.

Meanwhile, the Ko-Creator Program underscores Anko’s support for local talent, partnering with Filipino creators who share its passion for design and authentic storytelling.

An even brighter future

As Anko enters its second year, the brand remains steadfast in its mission to make everyday living brighter for Filipino families. The warm reception and positive feedback from customers have shaped its journey, fueling its evolution from one store to a nationwide community of Filipinos who share a love for home, style, and everyday living.

“For us, growth is about more than opening new stores — it’s about enriching the experience,” says Turner. “We want every Anko store to feel like a place where Filipinos can find inspiration, comfort, and joy.”

With more store openings, creative collaborations, and family-centered campaigns ahead, Anko is committed to continuing its journey of bringing Australian design and Filipino heart together.
