Bankers raised funds to support 41 scholars under the Regalo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko scholarship program, benefiting the children of security guards, janitors, messengers, drivers, and other agency personnel.
The employee-led initiatives were carried out in collaboration with the bank’s learning and engagement division and generated donations for Security Bank Foundation Inc., which supports the educational needs of agency workers and their families.
The bank said the activities were held alongside its year-end celebrations, channeling seasonal giving into long-term opportunities for education, according to a press release.
Why it matters
Agency personnel play a critical role in daily bank operations but often face financial barriers when it comes to schooling for their children. By directing support toward this group, the initiative highlights how workplace communities can help close education gaps from within.
How it worked
Employees participated in several initiatives during the year-end period, including a holiday marketplace held at the Security Bank head office in Makati City.
Participation translated into donations for the Foundation, reinforcing how small contributions can add up when driven by a shared purpose.
Beyond organized events, employees also supported the Foundation through its Adopt a Scholar campaign. Contributions came in different forms, including cash, Cheers Points from the Bank’s employee recognition program, and Security Bank Credit Card Rewards points.
Through these combined efforts, 41 RMKK scholars were adopted for School Year 2025–2026.
What they’re saying
“This is a testament to how collective generosity can change lives,” shared SBFI chair Rafael Simpao Jr.
“Every contribution brings our scholars closer to realizing their dreams and building better futures for themselves and their families.”
On the ground
The impact of the initiative was felt during the Christmas season, when adopted scholars wrote letters to their sponsors to express gratitude and reaffirm their commitment to completing their education.
Trina Ortega, employee engagement lead of Security Bank’s learning and engagement division, shared a particularly moving moment involving the mother of an RMKK scholar, herself a bank security guard, who visited the office to personally thank the team for the opportunity given to her daughter.
