Scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2025, the solar project is expected to generate about 714,553 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable energy annually, MSpectrum said in a statement.
“This project not only helps us cut energy costs by P1.2 million a year, but also helps us reduce our carbon footprint by 422 metric tons,” said EKPI president Alexander Ong Oh in the statement. The carbon footprint reduction is equivalent to planting 23,000 trees or eliminating over 2 million kilometers of vehicle travel per year.
Beyond sustainability, the solar project will enable EKPI to lock in energy costs for the next 10 years, ensuring business continuity even during scheduled power interruptions.
“We would be counting on MSpectrum to help us achieve this, and we look forward to future collaborations, possibly adding more solar generation,” Oh added.
EKPI, a subsidiary of DKSH Philippines, manufactures ingredients for food, personal care, specialty chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. The company joins a growing roster of businesses partnering with MSpectrum to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
“With eight years in the industry, MSpectrum celebrates another milestone in helping clients achieve their sustainability goals,” said MSpectrum COO Patrick Henry T. Panlilio, highlighting the company’s track record of installing over 80 MW of solar rooftop projects.
