Inaugurated on Nov. 29, 2024, URC Flour Sariaya facility expands the flour production capacity of URC’s flour milling unit (URC Flour) to 3,500 metric tons per day from 2,180 MT, enabling it to meet rising demand for quality flour.
“We are seeing an ever-growing demand for our products. This new flour mill will allow us to meet that demand, maintain the quality of our products, and keep our price point competitive,” said URC president & CEO Irwin C. Lee in a statement.
Equipped with fully automated milling technology, URC Flour Sariaya is the first in the Philippines to integrate a roller mill control and monitoring system into its main station. This advanced technology also enables fully automatic packing operations, streamlining the production process and minimizing waste.
The facility’s efficiency-focused upgrades reduce costs and significantly cut the company’s carbon footprint, aligning with URC’s commitment to sustainability. This initiative includes reducing energy and resource usage in manufacturing.
Sitting on a 10-hectare property, the mill creates 150 new jobs for local residents, reinforcing URC’s dedication to community development.
“URC Flour Sariaya is a testament to our unwavering dedication to innovation, quality, and growth,” said Lee. “With its enhanced technology, substantial capacity, and focus on community development, the plant is poised to become a cornerstone of URC’s progress and a catalyst for positive change in the area.”
URC Flour is a leading miller in the Philippines. It began operations in 1970 with its first plant in Pasig and opened a second facility in Davao in 1991.
