MSpectrum Inc., the solar energy subsidiary of Meralco, has turned over a 120-kilowatt peak (kWp) solar rooftop system to DHL Supply Chain to energize the logistics giant’s training center in Sta. Rosa, Laguna—marking another milestone in the companies' shared commitment to sustainability.
Both plants are now supplying clean energy to the power grid, with Prime Solar holding a 50-megawatt, 20-year power supply agreement with Meralco and delivering the surplus to the grid.
Aboitiz Renewables Inc., the renewable energy arm of Aboitiz Power Corp., has energized the 173-megawatt peak Calatrava Solar Project in Negros Occidental, marking a significant addition to the company’s growing renewable energy portfolio.
Terra Solar Philippines Inc. and Huawei International have joined forces to deliver the world’s largest integrated solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage facility, the MTerra Solar project of energy distribution giant Manila Electric Co. (Meralco).
“The Armenia Solar Project gives Aboitiz Renewables and AboitizPower great pride, being able to contribute our part to the diversification of the Philippine power mix,” ARI president Jimmy Villaroman said.
Scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2025, the solar project is expected to generate about 714,553 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable energy yearly.
Upon completion, it will deliver clean energy to 2.4 million households, avoiding 4.3 million tons of carbon emissions annually — the equivalent of removing over 3 million gasoline-powered vehicles from the roads.
Developed by Petroenergy’s Dagohoy Green Energy Corp., the project spans 22 hectares and houses over 40,000 solar panels. It is projected to produce 41,000 megawatt hours of electricity annually, powering more than 18,000 homes while reducing carbon emissions by 28,642 metric tons a year.
WalterMart, a leading community mall operator in the Philippines, is expanding its sustainability efforts by partnering again with First Gen Corp. and Pi Energy to install solar power systems in seven additional mall locations across Luzon.
