TCL eyes integrated energy systems as solar adoption grows

Insider Spotlight

  • TCL PV TECH is bringing its BlueArk X1 residential energy storage system to the Philippine market as households seek to use more self-generated solar power
  • The system integrates an inverter, battery storage and an Energy Management System, with capacity scalable from 8kWh to 128kWh
  • Single-phase models are due from October 2026, while three-phase versions for larger homes are scheduled for 2027

The growing use of residential solar is pushing energy companies beyond power generation toward systems that can store electricity, manage household consumption and provide reserves during grid outages, creating an opening for integrated home-energy platforms.

TCL PV TECH is tapping that shift with the Philippine introduction of BlueArk X1, an all-in-one residential energy storage system that connects solar generation, battery storage, household loads and the utility grid under a unified architecture.

The product forms part of TCL's broader push into smart energy alongside its consumer electronics business.

Everyday energy management

Solar panels generate electricity only when conditions permit, leaving households to manage the mismatch between generation and consumption. Battery storage can retain excess solar power for evening use or outages, while an integrated management system gives users greater control over when that stored electricity is consumed.

“We are happy to announce this breakthrough. Designed around a fully integrated framework, the BlueArk X1 combines the inverter, battery system, and Energy Management System (EMS) into one streamlined footprint. This all-in-one architecture helps simplify system deployment, installation, and everyday energy management,” TCL Philippines CEO Peter Chen said in a press statement.

BlueArk X1 starts with 8kWh of storage capacity and can scale to as much as 128kWh as household requirements increase. Digital monitoring provides real-time visibility into how energy is generated, stored and consumed.

Intelligent-grid management solutions

TCL PV TECH is positioning residential storage as one component of a wider energy portfolio. The company said its roadmap spans high-efficiency photovoltaic modules, residential and commercial or industrial energy storage, and intelligent grid-management solutions, drawing on TCL's manufacturing ecosystem and global operations.
