GSIS Offers Emergency Loans to Calamity-Hit Zamboanga Members, Pensioners

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has launched an emergency loan program for its members and pensioners in Zamboanga City who were impacted by recent adverse weather conditions.

This initiative, aimed at aiding 23,872 active members and 5,208 pensioners, comes with a P705.36 million fund, addressing the consequences of heavy rainfall and water scarcity.

Eligible members can apply for up to P40,000 to settle existing loans and receive a net amount of P20,000, while pensioners and those without existing loans may borrow P20,000.

The application deadline is set for April 25. GSIS ensures easy access through the GSIS Touch mobile app, promoting a simplified application process with a 6% interest rate and a three-year repayment plan, including a redemption insurance benefit.
