Often dubbed the “Oscars of Advertising,” the Cannes Lions is the most coveted recognition in the global advertising industry. GIGIL earned two Bronze Lions in the Film Lions category—one for “Steal” for Mandaue Foam Home Store, and another for “Miracle” for RC Cola.

This marks GIGIL’s fourth Cannes Lions win in five years and a major milestone: it is the first time a Philippine agency has won two Film Lions in the same year for two different clients.
In addition, GIGIL won three awards from the D&AD (Design & Art Direction) Awards in London, one of the toughest creative shows in the industry. “Steal” earned a Graphite Pencil and a Wood Pencil, while “Miracle” secured another Wood Pencil—all in the Film category.
Established in 1962, the D&AD Awards are recognized globally for their stringent standards and emphasis on craft and creativity.
“Winning a Lion at Cannes is a significant achievement, and to secure two in the same year, following our wins at D&AD, is something we are very proud of,” said Herbert Hernandez, founding partner and chief creative officer at GIGIL. “We are honored to represent the Philippines on the global stage and showcase the caliber of Filipino creativity.”
Both campaigns were directed by Marius Talampas of Arcade Film Factory, further highlighting Filipino collaboration at the highest level.
Beyond creative honors, GIGIL has also excelled in campaign performance. The agency is the most awarded Philippine agency at the APAC Effie Awards—the leading regional competition for marketing effectiveness—for five consecutive years. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
