Cebu Pacific seals largest aircraft deal in PH history, orders 152 Airbus A321neo for P1.4T

The Gokongwei family's Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, has signed a binding memorandum of understanding with Airbus for the purchase of up to 152 A321neo aircraft valued at $24 billion or 1.4 trillion.

He has set the country's largest airline on an aggressive growth path to meet future demand for air travel.

This marks the largest aircraft order in Philippine aviation history. CEB has selected Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engines to power the future aircraft.

The MOU includes firm orders for up to 102 A321neo and 50 A320neo family purchase rights, a stamement showed on Tuesday. 

The purchase agreement is expected to be finalized in the third quarter of the year.

The Airbus A321neo ("Neo" for "New Engine Option) — similar to this one delivered to Cebu Pacific last year — uses more efficient Pratt & Whitney turbofans that consume less fuel and result in larger savings for the operating airline.
