Insider Spotlight
The Filipino indie folk-pop artists are part of Move Your World Beat, a regional campaign developed with creative partner VIRTUE Asia that challenges musicians to transform everyday sounds produced by Toyota vehicles into original tracks.
Collaboration
The initiative gives Filipino music a place in a broader collaboration showcasing how Asian artists can reinterpret cultural identity through contemporary sound. It also extends Toyota’s Move Your World platform beyond mobility into music and creative expression.
Toyota said the campaign brings together established and emerging artists from across Asia to collaborate and experiment while encouraging a new generation to express their cultures.
"At its heart, Move Your World is about Toyota's commitment to the communities in Asia - the freedom to move, and the thrill and joy of moving forward together. With Move Your World Beat, we bring that same spirit to music, a universal language that unites our communities and moves us all a little closer,” Toyota Motor Asia general manager Jaja Ishibashi said in a press statement.
“By supporting creators and bringing different voices together, we hope to inspire new forms of expression and show that when we move together, we can create something greater than any one of us could achieve alone," Ishibashi added.
The regional lineup
Paolo and Miguel join Malaysia’s Belle Sisoski, Pakistan’s Natasha Noorani, Singapore’s Shye, Thailand’s Valentina Ploy and Vietnam’s 2pillz.
Through a TikTok-led creator program, the artists will build tracks around Toyota vehicle sounds ranging from subtle clicks and ambient hums to engineered tones, reshaping them according to their individual musical identities.
Collective beat
Toyota plans to bring the six countries’ musical contributions together in a regional collective beat later this year, creating a single collaborative work designed to showcase Asia’s creative diversity.
Move Your World Beat is also intended to continue beyond this year’s campaign. Toyota sees the initiative as an ongoing platform for future collaborations centered on creativity, community and cultural exchange, giving participating artists opportunities to turn the sounds of mobility into stories that can travel across the region. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S.
