  • Services include iron blood tests, nerve screening, cardiometabolic checks, physician consultations and anemia screening
  • The retailer says the program aims to make preventive healthcare easier to incorporate into Filipinos’ everyday routines

Watsons Philippines is extending its free in-store health services this September, giving consumers access to screenings and medical consultations at selected locations across Metro Manila and nearby areas.

The health and beauty retailer said the initiative builds on its preventive healthcare efforts in August and is intended to give Filipinos more opportunities to monitor health risks and understand key health indicators.

Routine checks

The program brings basic preventive services into retail locations, potentially reducing the need for consumers to make a separate trip to a clinic or hospital for certain routine checks.

Free iron blood tests will be offered at Watsons stores in SM Novaliches Mall and SM San Lazaro Mall from Sept. 18 to 20. Nerve screenings will be available from Sept. 19 to 20 at Eastwood 1800, North Edsa The Block, Ever Gotesco Commonwealth, Forbeswood Parklane and SM City Fairview.

Beyond providing access to health, wellness, and beauty products, Watsons remains committed to helping customers make informed choices through accessible services, expert guidance, and health education. | Contributed photo

Watsons SM San Jose del Monte Mall will hold fasting blood sugar and serum uric acid screening on Sept. 17 from noon to 5 p.m., alongside free medical consultations, bone screening and anemia screening.

Free health services

Cardiometabolic screening and free physician consultations are also scheduled at Watsons SM Fairview on Sept. 17 and Watsons Matalino PHC on Sept. 21.

“Taking care of your health is an ongoing commitment, and it doesn’t always have to involve a separate trip to a clinic or hospital. By continuing to offer free health services in our stores, we hope to make regular health checks easier to fit into everyday routines and encourage more Filipinos to stay informed, take action early, and make their health a continuous priority,” Watsons Philippines managing director Danilo S. Chiong said in a press statement.
