Taiwan targets PH healthcare ties with integrated solutions

Taiwan is looking to deepen healthcare ties with the Philippines by presenting its medical, technology and wellness capabilities as an interconnected ecosystem, as Taiwanese providers pursue regional partnerships aimed at making care more accessible, efficient and comprehensive.

The Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion, set for Sept. 17 to 19 at the SMX Convention Center Manila during Taiwan Expo 2026, will bring together 21 Taiwanese hospitals and companies across medical services, medical devices, regenerative medicine, and biotech and everyday wellness solutions. A product event is also scheduled on Sept. 17.

ICT capabilities 

The showcase reflects an effort to translate Taiwan’s established ICT capabilities into healthcare applications while connecting hospitals, technology companies and biomedical firms with Philippine and Southeast Asian partners.

Among participating healthcare institutions are Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital, Taipei Municipal Wanfang Hospital, Chang Bing Show Chwan Memorial Hospital and Shuang Ho Hospital, which will present international patient care and specialized medical services.

Telemedicine, smart-care systems 

Far East Medical Electronics Technology will feature telemedicine and smart-care systems, while Quanta Computer will present its QOCA o2b pulse oximeter for continuous blood-oxygen monitoring. Ginkgomed will showcase 3D anatomical software and digital pathology technologies.

Other technologies will cover foot health, smart diagnostics and hearing aids, highlighting the intersection between Taiwan’s ICT industry and patient care.

Biotech and wellness segment

BioGend Therapeutics will feature its RevoCart One-Step Autologous Cartilage Repair System, while Norien Biotech will present its OsteoFill Gel injectable hydrogel platform.

The biotech and wellness segment, meanwhile, will include health supplements, algae-based formulations, medicated topical essential oils and skincare products, extending the pavilion’s scope from clinical treatment to preventive care and everyday wellness.

B2B Matchmaking sessions 

The pavilion is intended as a platform for exchanging ideas and developing commercial and healthcare partnerships between Taiwan and the Philippines, with B2B matchmaking sessions and site visits available to trade visitors, medical professionals and prospective partners. —Vanessa Hidalgo| Ed: Corrie S.
