MPower, Araneta Group expand 11-year energy partnership

Building on more than a decade of successful collaboration, MPower—the local retail electricity supplier of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco)—has renewed and expanded its partnership with the Araneta Group to ensure reliable power supply across key properties in Araneta City.

The latest milestone includes a renewed retail electricity supply contract for ACI Inc.'s properties in Quezon City and a new agreement with Araneta Hotels Inc. that now covers ibis Styles Manila, the newest addition to Araneta City's hospitality lineup. The contract signing was recently held at the hotel.

ACI Inc. manages Araneta City, a bustling 35-hectare mixed-use district of retail, office, residential, and entertainment spaces. Araneta Hotels, meanwhile, is focused on expanding the group’s hospitality ventures in the area.

“The Araneta Group is committed to excellent customer service and operational efficiency. Our long-time partnership with MPower secures a reliable energy supply across our multiple properties, allowing us to deliver the highest level of service to our guests,” Maria Manlulu-Garcia, cluster general manager of Novotel and ibis Styles Manila, said in a statement.

ACI has been among MPower’s pioneer clients since it began operations in June 2013. The electricity deal with Araneta Hotels started in 2018. Today, most Araneta Group properties benefit from MPower’s customized energy solutions under the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM), which empowers businesses with high energy demand to choose their own supplier.

“The enduring partnership and trust given to us in powering Araneta City inspire MPower to continuously explore new avenues for growth and innovation,” said MPower head Redel M. Domingo.
