The additional renewable power supply marks another step in the property's decarbonization strategy as it seeks to reduce emissions while optimizing energy use across its growing portfolio.

The new agreements, signed in early July, cover the electricity requirements of Cyberpark Tower 3, Aurora Tower, the former Fiesta Carnival site now undergoing redevelopment, and the remaining Fiesta Carnival Arcade.
First Gen will supply an estimated 3.4 megawatts (MW) of electricity sourced from its 648-MW Unified Leyte geothermal power plants.
The expanded agreement builds on an earlier partnership signed in October 2025 that provided renewable electricity to Ali Mall, New Frontier Theater, and Manhattan Gardens. Those facilities receive an estimated 5.4 MW from First Gen's geothermal and hydroelectric plants in Bicol and Nueva Ecija.
"We have been trying to tap renewable energy sources for the past years and we're happy to be achieving our vision. Our BPO [business process outsourcing] locators have been asking us to source renewable energy. We look forward to growing our partnership with First Gen," said Araneta City senior vice president Antonio Mardo in a statement.
Growing demand
Mardo said demand from business process outsourcing tenants has reinforced the company's commitment to cleaner energy sources as more corporate occupiers incorporate sustainability targets into their operations.
First Gen chief customer engagement officer Carlo Vega said renewable energy offers benefits beyond environmental gains.
"Shifting to renewable energy is not just doing good for the environment, but also a means to manage business risks. We thank the Araneta Group for growing with us and allowing us to be their partner as they progress in their sustainability journey," Vega said in the same statement.
Known as the "City of Firsts," Araneta City has also been among the early adopters of the Department of Energy's Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) and Retail Aggregation Program (RAP), which allow qualified electricity consumers to choose their power suppliers.
Its 2025 renewable energy agreements under the RAP combined the electricity demand of more than 200 retail and service tenants at Ali Mall and New Frontier Theater, along with over 9,000 apartments across 18 residential towers at Manhattan Gardens. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
