Pole line hardware manufacturer Jocelyn Forge Inc. (JFI) has selected COREnergy as the retail electricity supplier for four companies under its group, securing a 2.83-megawatt (MW) power supply through 2028 as manufacturers increasingly treat electricity as a strategic business resource rather than simply an operating expense.

The partnership covers Jocelyn Forge Inc., Jocelyn Casting, Formosa Forge Phils. Inc., and Galvanizing Specialist Manufacturing Inc., all based in Bulacan.

COREnergy, the retail electricity arm of Vivant Energy, will supply power under the Department of Energy's Retail Aggregation Program (RAP).

Strategic shift

The agreement allows the manufacturing group to access more competitive electricity rates while reducing exposure to fluctuations in wholesale electricity prices.

JFI manufactures standard and customized pole line hardware used by electric distribution utilities and telecommunications companies, including steel crossarms, pole accessories, bolts and brackets. Its operations rely heavily on electricity to run precision tooling machines and advanced manufacturing equipment.

"Working with COREnergy has been a consistently pleasant and straightforward experience for our team," Jocelyn Forge president and head of operations Jayson Ang said in a statement.

"Their commitment to transparency and customer support has reinforced our trust in the partnership, enabling us to scale our operations with confidence while maintaining a dependable power supply for our manufacturing facilities," he added.

Industry support

COREnergy commercial excellence head Edralin Bayona said the partnership aligns with the shared objective of supporting industries critical to the country's development.

"Jocelyn Forge's commitment to supplying the critical components of the Philippines' energy and telecom infrastructure perfectly aligns with COREnergy and Vivant's broader goals for a more developed nation," Bayona said.

"As an integrated gentailer, our objective is to provide industrial partners with the tools for true empowerment, delivering the continuous energy solutions they need to support the growth of their business," he added.

Beyond supplying electricity, COREnergy said it provides support for customer switching, transparent billing, simplified contract terms, and power consumption monitoring through its MyPower Platform.

Expanded access

The partnership comes as more businesses gain access to competitive electricity sourcing following changes in energy regulations.

Effective June 26, 2026, the Energy Regulatory Commission lowered the eligibility threshold for both the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework and the Retail Aggregation Program to an average monthly peak demand of 100 kilowatts, expanding participation to more commercial and industrial customers.

For manufacturers, where electricity directly affects production efficiency, operating costs and delivery commitments, the agreement underscores a growing trend of integrating energy procurement into broader business strategy.
