The 405-room Belmont Hotel Iloilo lifts the developer’s total room count in the city to nearly 1,000 keys across three properties, giving it about 25 percent of Iloilo’s hotel room supply.
Located within the 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park, the opening strengthens Megaworld’s position in a city benefiting from growing tourism, business travel and convention activity.
Building a hospitality ecosystem
The new property joins Richmonde Hotel Iloilo and Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, deepening Megaworld’s presence inside its flagship township.
For the property giant, the expansion is part of a broader strategy of building recurring income streams from hotels, offices and retail assets alongside residential developments.
The hotel’s 405 guestrooms range from standard accommodations to one-bedroom suites designed for longer-staying guests, widening its appeal to both leisure and business travelers.
Meetings, family travel
Beyond room revenue, Belmont Hotel Iloilo is targeting the meetings, incentives, conferences and events market through a ballroom that can host more than 300 guests and can be configured for corporate functions and social gatherings.
The property also introduces family-oriented rooms and accommodations designed for guests with mobility requirements, concepts that remain relatively uncommon in the local market.
Those features broaden the hotel’s customer base at a time when operators are competing for a larger share of tourism and business spending.
Culture becomes part of the product
Megaworld has also woven local culture into the guest experience as it seeks to differentiate the property from competing hotels.
The hotel features a gallery dedicated to Iloilo-born singer-songwriter and businessman Jose Mari Chan, while guestrooms showcase artworks by local artists depicting the city’s landmarks and heritage.
A separate art gallery will host rotating exhibits from Ilonggo artists, reinforcing Iloilo Business Park’s growing role as a cultural destination as well as a commercial hub.
