Aboitiz, Tsuneishi to build civil engineering school in Lapu-Lapu City

Aboitiz Construction and Tsuneishi Holdings (Cebu) Inc. have broken ground on a new Civil Engineering Building for Lapu-Lapu Cebu International College (LCIC), aiming to boost technical education tied to shipbuilding and infrastructure.

Slated for completion in 16 months, the facility will function as both an academic space and a training center for students preparing to enter engineering-related fields.

The project is expected to create nearly 200 jobs, with most of the workforce to be sourced locally. It also reflects the continued collaboration between Aboitiz and Tsuneishi, whose partnership began in 1996 with shipbuilding operations in Balamban, Cebu.

Over the years, the partnership has supported multiple construction phases and created thousands of jobs for surrounding communities.
