  • 11,800+ Early Wage Access app downloads signal strong employee demand for flexible access to earned pay
  • Nearly 6,800 employees enrolled in SAFE, TELUS Digital Philippines’ savings, investment and retirement program
  • 4,600 additional dependents were enrolled in enhanced HMO coverage

TELUS Digital Philippines is turning financial wellness into an employee engagement lever, with thousands of workers adopting savings, healthcare and early wage access programs as the company recorded a 15% year-on-year decline in attrition.

The company’s “Petsa de Power” internal communications campaign won at the 22nd Philippine Quill Awards after translating employee financial concerns into a year-long communications effort supporting more than 26,000 team members across Metro Manila and Iloilo.

Financial education

Rather than treating financial wellness as a one-off program announcement, TELUS Digital Philippines used employee survey responses to shape communications and financial initiatives.

The company strengthened its Savings Arrangement for Financial Empowerment, or SAFE, and HMO coverage, introduced Early Wage Access, and expanded financial education through its Pera Paraan initiative.

Throughout 2025, employees encountered the campaign through email, webinars, roadshows, e-learning modules, testimonial videos, onsite materials and internal digital platforms.

“Financial concerns can be deeply personal, and every team member’s situation is different,” TELUS Digital senior vice president of global customer experience and trust and safety operations Rajiv M.Dhand said in a press statement.

“Petsa de Power is designed to help our people feel financial support is within reach, while creating more open and practical conversations around financial wellness. We are honored to receive this recognition from the Philippine Quill Awards as it affirms the value of communicating employee programs in a way that is relevant to the realities team members are facing,” he added.

Enhanced HMO coverage

More than 11,800 employees downloaded the Early Wage Access app, nearly 6,800 newly enrolled in SAFE and another 4,600 dependents gained enhanced HMO coverage.

The campaign comes as financial knowledge does not necessarily translate into financial confidence. The company cited the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ 2025 Consumer Finance and Inclusion Survey, which found 74% of respondents correctly answered at least half of six financial literacy questions, while only 43% reported satisfaction with their financial situation.

‘Peace of mind’

“The peace of mind that SAFE provides is priceless. I really appreciate the employer matching features of the program, and they made sure we fully understand how this combined savings, investment and retirement program works," said Pia, TELUS Digital Philippines team member. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed.: Corrie S.
