Insider Spotlight
The bank’s RCBC ATM Go Agency Banking Initiative and MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech received distinctions at the 2026 Philippine Quill Awards, which recognize excellence in strategic business communication.
ATM Go was recognized under Community Relations for an engagement strategy that enables micro-entrepreneurs to serve as local banking access points. The model brings cash-in, cash-out and other basic financial services closer to communities across all 82 Philippine provinces.
Why it matters
Beyond expanding physical access, the initiative uses community engagement, local trust and financial literacy to help connect underserved Filipinos to the formal financial system.
The MySSS Card, meanwhile, was recognized under Marketing, Advertising, and Brand Communication. Developed with the Social Security System, the three-in-one product combines access to SSS digital services, a digital banking account and a debit card.
The campaign focused on making digital financial services more relevant and accessible, particularly for Filipinos who have yet to adopt formal banking and digital payments, according to the company release.
What they’re saying
"These recognitions affirm our belief that communication is a powerful catalyst for financial inclusion. Whether we are bringing banking closer to communities through ATM Go or making formal financial services more accessible through the MySSS Card, the goal is to build trust and remove barriers for Filipinos," said RCBC executive vice president and chief innovations and inclusion officer Lito Villanueva.
The bigger picture
The two Philippine Quill distinctions follow RCBC’s international recognition earlier in 2026, when it was the only Philippine bank among that year’s IABC Gold Quill Awardees.
RCBC received the international Customer Relations distinction for its campaign supporting RCBC Pulz’s U.S. Virtual Account, which allows Filipinos without a U.S. address to access a U.S. virtual account.
The product targets the financial needs of freelancers, remote professionals, virtual assistants and overseas Filipinos, extending RCBC’s broader push to turn financial technology into services customers can more easily access, understand and use. — Princess Daisy C. Ominga | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
