WINNING | PLDT turns communication into business impact at scale

PLDT Group is putting communication at the center of how it builds customer trust, strengthens communities and supports business priorities, with programs ranging from cybersecurity education to digital livelihood and customer experience.

Beyond traditional corporate messaging

That broad approach earned PLDT Group the Company of the Year distinction at the 22nd Philippine Quill Awards, where it collected 21 wins—eight Awards of Excellence and 13 Awards of Merit—across initiatives led by PLDT, Smart and partner organizations.

The recognition highlights how the telco group is using communications beyond traditional corporate messaging, connecting campaigns with business resilience, stakeholder engagement and social impact.

Seal of excellence

Among its Excellence winners were #BeCyberSmart, which promotes digital safety; the Digital Farmers Program and eBizNovation, aimed at farmers and MSMEs; and the #LearnSmart App Initiative, which supports inclusive, culture-centric literacy.

PLDT Home initiatives focused on Filipina entrepreneurs also scored Excellence awards. Panahon Mo Na and Madiskarte Moms PH use digital tools, literacy and community engagement to help mompreneurs strengthen their economic resilience.

Customer-focused programs also featured prominently, including Smart CX Learning Experience, TNT Anibersaya 25 and PLDT Home’s Netflix omnichannel campaign.

“A winning entry is work that makes a meaningful difference. It starts with a real need, understands the people it needs to reach, and uses communication to create change that matters,” president of IABC Philippines Richard Arboleda said in a press statement.

Stories of Filipinos

PLDT Group was also nominated in the Top Division Awards for Communication Management and Communication Training and Education, underscoring the range of its communications work.

“At PLDT and Smart, we’d like to think that this is not just about communication, but really about recognition for the fact that we are with our communities. We are carrying here not just our storytelling, but the stories of Filipinos all over the country, and all over the world,” PLDT and Smart FVP and Group Head of Public Engagement Roby Alampay said.
