The designation authorizes INAEC to provide engine maintenance support for Safran helicopter engines used by critical operators, including the Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine National Police.

The partnership strengthens local capabilities in maintaining helicopter fleets essential for national security and public safety. Safran is the world’s leading helicopter engine maker, with more than 75,000 engines produced and a customer base spanning 155 countries.
The backstory:
Formerly known as Turbomeca, Safran offers the broadest range of helicopter turboshaft engines for civilian and military use.
Talks between INAEC and Safran began in March 2024, when INAEC helped facilitate a Support-By-The-Hour (SBH®) agreement for a client with Safran.
That collaboration showcased INAEC’s maintenance and commercial expertise, paving the way for a formal partnership.
Details:
A partnership contract was signed in May 2025 after Safran’s due diligence review.
INAEC later passed a qualification audit, confirming its readiness to join Safran’s global support network.
