The growth was also spurred by recent infrastructure projects, which boosted capacity by 30 percent to 1.25 million TEUs, allowing it to handle larger vessels.
The terminal has also integrated advanced technology, such as automated cranes, to improve efficiency. VICT is dedicated to sustainability.
Management’s view
“Since opening our doors at Webb Dock in 2017, VICT has been dedicated to continuous improvement, investing heavily in innovative technology, the highest safety and sustainability standards, and the well-being of our valued staff,” Bruno Porchietto, CEO at VICT, said in a statement.
“Reaching five million TEUs is a testament to this unwavering commitment and a significant accomplishment for the entire VICT team. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the staff for their dedication and hard work,” he added.
Ongoing investments
VICT, operated by Razon’s International Container Terminal Services, earlier announced plans to invest over $343 million, adding to the $481 million already invested since 2014.
This expansion would solidify ICTSI as one of the largest foreign infrastructure investors in Victoria, Australia.
