PAL boosts Cebu hub with new Catarman, more Siargao flights

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is strengthening its Cebu hub by launching a new Cebu-Catarman route and increasing flights between Cebu and Siargao, starting March 1, 2025.

The new thrice-weekly Cebu-Catarman service will connect travelers to the capital of Northern Samar, a key commercial and educational hub in Eastern Visayas.

PAL is also ramping up its Cebu-Siargao route with additional midmorning flights on Wednesdays and Sundays, boosting the total to 18 weekly flights to the surfing capital known for its pristine beaches, white sand islets, and hidden lagoons.

Management’s view

“Philippine Airlines is happy to upgrade services to Catarman through this new link from Cebu. Samar residents and travelers will now have better access to Cebu, and the new route will also give Cebuanos more options to visit Northern Samar,” said PAL Express president Rabbi Ang

“The new Cebu hub services to Catarman and Siargao are part of our continuing commitment to enhance inter-island connectivity, boosting tourism and stimulating business,” he added.

Turboprop trips

The Cebu-Catarman route will operate with the 86-seater De Havilland Dash 8 Series 400 Next Generation aircraft, offering near-jet speeds and superior comfort.

Travelers from Catarman will gain seamless connections via Cebu to key destinations such as Boracay (Caticlan), Clark, Coron (Busuanga), Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, and Siargao.

To promote the route, PAL is offering an introductory base fare starting at P698, available until January 31 for travel beginning March 1.

PAL also continues to serve Siargao with two daily flights from Manila and three weekly flights from Clark. Additionally, Catarman remains connected to Manila with four weekly flights.
