Ortigas Land breaks into resort-residential market with Costa Calatagan

Ortigas Land launched on Aug. 5 Costa Calatagan, a 45-hectare mixed-use leisure estate spanning a 424-meter beachfront in this storied coastal town—marking the property developer’s official entry into the resort-residential market.

The estate integrates two primary components: an all-villa resort managed by Ortigas Land and a residential enclave offering a total of 219 lots.

Phase 1 recorded a 94-percent take-up on launch day, underscoring robust market demand for leisure-integrated properties within drivable distance of Metro Manila. Phase 2 is slated to open in 2026, in parallel with the resort’s soft opening.

A new kind of coastal living

With direct access via the Zobel Highway, Costa Calatagan offers a master-planned estate that combines an all-villa resort and a low-density residential enclave composed of 219 lots.

“This is a milestone for Ortigas Land as we expand into coastal development while preserving the principles that define our legacy communities,” said the company in a statement.

The estate’s layout emphasizes natural topography and sustainable planning. Rolling terrain was used to create natural separations between clusters while enhancing scenic views. Shared amenities include a five-hectare beachfront, a seaside clubhouse with pools, sports and recreation facilities, and pedestrian trails.

Designed for distinction, built for belonging

Ortigas Land has also secured lifestyle partnerships to enhance the experience. Europa Yachts will offer boat tours and yacht charters to residents and guests. In addition, the nearby Calatagan Golf Club, a 10-minute drive away, will be accessible to homeowners.

The hospitality component will consist of 123 villas, developed and managed by Ortigas Land. Resort features include a welcome pavilion with a guest pool, five dining outlets, and integrated access to selected amenities.

The Private Villas, which range from 450 to 700 square meters, are designed for long-term ownership and allow custom-built homes. A distinctive feature of the estate is the absence of back-to-back lot configurations, optimizing privacy, airflow, and natural light. Many residential lots are nestled within preserved mango and acacia orchards.

A sanctuary of sustainability and serenity

Homeowners will enjoy exclusive amenities such as an orchard clubhouse with an infinity pool and a yoga pavilion designed to provide a serene escape from the resort’s more active core.

Costa Calatagan also incorporates sustainable infrastructure, including solar energy, water reuse systems, and a planned green farm to support farm-to-table dining and serve as a learning site. Ortigas Land is working to partner with local academic institutions to train future hospitality professionals aligned with the estate’s values.

“Costa Calatagan reflects our commitment to thoughtful place-making—where lifestyle, environment, and community converge,” Ortigas Land added. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
