The company currently operates 13 hotels with around 6,000 rooms and plans to boost this by opening flagship projects in Boracay, Iloilo, Palawan, Bacolod, Pampanga, and Pasig.
Management's view
“It is Alliance Global Group’s thrust to strengthen and streamline our hospitality portfolio as we look to attract and welcome more tourists, more conventions, and more events in our hotel developments,” says Kevin L. Tan, president and CEO, Alliance Global Group.
“The inclusion of international hotels in our portfolio will further cement our position as the largest hotel operator in the country for both local and international hotels,” said sys Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, president and CEO, Megaworld.
“Through this expansion program, we aim to continue to further grow and strengthen our contribution to the Philippine tourism industry,” she added.
Hotel consolidation
Among this year’s major moves is the consolidation of the 326-room Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo into Megaworld’s hotel portfolio.
Belmont Hotel Mactan will also be rebranded as Mercure Mactan Cebu under global hospitality giant Accor.
At least five more homegrown hotels are scheduled to transition to Accor brands over the next five years.
