Emperador indicated it will partner with Fuyu, a member of the Chinese giant Fosun Group, which lists over 800 billion RMB in assets, or P6.4 trillion, on its website.
“This partnership with Fuyu, one of China’s largest beverage companies, will create more opportunities for our business in China, particularly brandy,” Emperador said in a presentation to investors.
Last year, Emperador said it plans to establish an operating venture in China as part of a broader strategy to raise international sales to half of revenues.
As of 2023, China remains a growth target for Emperador, with sales of £135 million (P9.8 billion), a jump of 39.5 percent.
The company’s brands include Emperador Brandy, Fundador Brandy, The Dalmore, Fettercairn, Jura, and Tamnavulin Single Malt Scotch whiskies.
