Designed as a one-stop, high-capacity business hub, the upgraded facility aims to make doing business faster, smarter, and more accessible by integrating digital tools with in-person services.
Why it matters
MSMEs account for 99.6 percent of registered businesses in the Philippines and generate more than 60 percent of employment nationwide.
The DTI said the model Negosyo Center is meant to directly address long-standing inefficiencies that have hindered small entrepreneurs, particularly those operating in resource-constrained settings.
What the center offers
The model Negosyo Center delivers streamlined services including business name registration and Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) processing.
Entrepreneurs can also access advanced advisory services, specialized training, innovation support, and digital solutions backed by the Tatak Pinoy and Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (BSMED) Digitalization Funds.
The DTI said the facility is designed to be responsive to entrepreneur needs, combining physical upgrades with systems that reduce processing time and improve service delivery.
What’s next
The launch marks the start of DTI’s broader modernization drive for Negosyo Centers nationwide.
Of the roughly 1,400 centers across the country, the agency plans to upgrade at least two centers per region this year.
Trade Secretary Cristina Roque urged entrepreneurs and investors to maximize the enhanced services, noting that many of today’s major companies began as small enterprises.
“The Marcos Jr. administration is here to help you as best and as aggressively as we can,” Roque said, encouraging MSMEs to take advantage of government programs that support growth and expansion. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
