The initiative supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to boost financing opportunities for MSMEs through affordable loans and programs, while complementing DTI’s five-point agenda of empowering local businesses with funding and technical support to compete globally.
Bridging support and financing
Under the program, DTI will identify and endorse eligible MSME borrowers to Landbank, while also co-developing capacity-building activities to help entrepreneurs become financing-ready.
DTI Regional Operations Group Undersecretary Blesila Lantayona highlighted the program’s role in enabling MSMEs to expand their operations and strengthen competitiveness.
“Programs like LIFT MSMEs are so crucial. They bridge government support with the right financing instruments, unlocking private sector innovation—combining program reach with resources, and providing the capital needed to turn entrepreneurial vision into reality,” Lantayona said.
Sustaining jobs and local growth
Beyond access to funds, the LIFT Program aims to secure the long-term sustainability of enterprises and ensure their resilience against crises such as natural disasters and pandemics.
“In doing so, we give MSMEs the breathing space to grow, innovate, and withstand crises—while continuing to create jobs and keep local economies alive,” Lantayona added.
