Rose, who is on his third trip to the Philippines as an ArenaPlus brand ambassador, will headline a two-day visit culminating in a public event at SM Seaside City Cebu on Aug. 26.
Taking the campaign beyond Manila
The Cebu leg gives ArenaPlus another regional platform for a marketing strategy built heavily around basketball, one of the sports at the center of its sponsorship and partnership portfolio.
The visit begins Aug. 25 with a Champion’s Circle Appreciation Dinner involving select ArenaPlus players, the company said in a release.
The following day, Rose will appear at SM Seaside City Cebu for an event beginning at 11 a.m., featuring basketball activities and entertainment. Admission is free for guests aged 21 and above.
ArenaPlus, operated by DigiPlus Interactive Corp., launched in 2023 as a PAGCOR-licensed online sportsbook. It has since built partnerships with sports leagues including the NBA, Philippine Basketball Association and Premier Volleyball League.
Basketball as a brand connector
For ArenaPlus, bringing Rose, a former Chicago Bulls star, to Cebu also reflects an effort to extend sports-related campaigns to audiences in major cities outside the capital.
“Sports have always been about more than what happens on the court. They bring people together and give fans a community where they can share the moments that make the game special,” ArenaPlus head Ethan William said.
“That’s why we want to bring experiences like this closer to fans across the country, not just in Metro Manila. Cebu has an incredible passion for basketball, and bringing Derrick here is one way for us to celebrate that community and give Cebuano fans an experience they can call their own.”
Filipino rapper Skusta Clee is also scheduled to perform during the Aug. 26 program.
