DITO BizBayan is sharpening its strategy around micro, small, and medium enterprises by positioning connectivity as a key enabler of modern commerce, showcased through its partnership with South Trading Post (STP), a popular curated weekend flea market and community hub based in southern Metro Manila.

The telecommunications unit powered STP’s recent milestone celebration on Feb. 27, 2026, capping several community-driven events that demonstrated how reliable connectivity supports merchant operations and customer engagement.

The big picture

DITO BizBayan is increasingly targeting MSMEs as a strategic growth segment as businesses adopt digital payments, online engagement, and hybrid selling models.

Through its collaboration with South Trading Post, the company provided connectivity infrastructure supporting merchant transactions, production requirements, and online interactions during a series of events.

These included the STP second "Southversary" held from Nov. 7 to 9, 2025 at Alabang Town Center, the South Sleigh Ride event on December 20 to 21, 2025 at G Studios Alabang, and Love You So Matcha held from February 13 to 15, 2026 at Alabang Town Center.

The events served as real-world demonstrations of how connectivity solutions enable merchants to operate seamlessly across physical and digital channels.

Why it matters

The Philippine retail landscape is increasingly shaped by small businesses adopting cashless payments, digital marketing, and real-time customer engagement.

DITO BizBayan is positioning its 5G-powered services to meet these evolving operational needs.

“STP represents what the modern market looks like today, where business happens seamlessly both offline and online. With DITO’s 5G connectivity, we’re helping MSMEs power cashless payments, connect with customers in real time, and create meaningful experiences. From seamless digital payments to stable connectivity, we strive to make every event not just successful, but truly memorable for both merchants and their customers,” noted Gabby Cui, head of MSME, DITO BizBayan.

What they’re saying

Event organizers say the partnership demonstrates how connectivity providers can help strengthen small business ecosystems.

“Partnering with DITO BizBayan has been transformative for South Trading Post and our community. Their support as the main title sponsor of our anniversary event, Southversary 2, and for our recent thanksgiving dinner with our partner brands shows their dedication to helping and empowering small Filipino businesses thrive. Together, we’re proving that when businesses come together, communities grow even stronger,” shared Justin Francisco, co-founder of South Trading Post.

What’s next

Backed by its expanding 5G network, DITO BizBayan is positioning its connectivity solutions as essential infrastructure for MSMEs navigating digital transformation.

The company’s partnerships with merchant communities like STP reflect a broader strategy to embed telecom services directly into business ecosystems, enabling Filipino enterprises to scale operations and customer engagement in an increasingly connected economy. —Daxim L.
