Accounting has emerged as the most in-demand job specialization, making up 11.81 percent of total job postings on the platform. Despite the growing number of graduates in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) -related fields, the supply of qualified accounting professionals remains insufficient to meet market demand, Jobstreet by SEEK’s report noted.
Following closely are Information and Communication Technology (ICT) roles, which account for 11.14 percent of job ads, and sales positions, ranking third at 10.10 percent. Both ICT and sales roles continue to dominate employer hiring trends, driven by digital transformation and expanding consumer markets.
Completing the top 10 list are:
Call center & customer service (9.98 percent)
Manufacturing, transport & logistics (8.12 percent)
Administration & office support (6.43 percent)
Retail & consumer products (5.4 percent)
Marketing & communications (5.09 percent)
Human Resources & recruitment (5.09 percent)
Engineering (4.74 percent)
Sales, marketing, and communications were also among the fastest-growing sectors in the past three months, aligning with the country’s projected economic growth. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) expects GDP to rise from 5.4 percent in the first quarter to 6.2 percent in the second quarter, fueling stronger hiring activity across industries.
The timing is especially relevant as thousands of fresh graduates enter the workforce. Entry-level roles are increasingly available on Jobstreet by SEEK, helping new jobseekers find opportunities faster.
Currently, the platform averages 130,000 job listings a month, bolstered by its Free Lite Ads program, which allows employers to post unlimited openings for 30 days at no cost.
“Jobstreet by SEEK is here to provide work for Filipinos because we believe that everyone deserves access to a job,” said Joey Yusingco, head of marketing. “Our goal is to empower every Filipino and bridge the unemployment gap through access to the right opportunities.” —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
