That momentum was underscored after Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort placed third in the Philippines' Beach, Island + Upcountry Resorts category at the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2026, ranking highest among Cebu properties included in the category.
The beachfront resort is part of the Robinsons Hotels and Resorts portfolio, the hospitality arm of Robinsons Land Corp.
Why it matters
The recognition highlights how Cebu's upscale hospitality sector is strengthening its competitiveness at a time when tourism operators are focusing on attracting higher-value travelers.
Located within Robinsons Land's Amisa mixed-use development in Mactan, the resort combines leisure, wellness and business facilities, positioning itself to serve both vacationers and the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) market.
The Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific, organized by Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong & Macau, recognize leading hotels, resorts, spas, airlines, cruises and travel experiences across the region. Nominees are selected by the publication's editors and expert contributors, while winners are determined through reader voting.
Driving demand
"We are honored by this recognition from Travel + Leisure's readers, whose support reflects the care and consistency our teams bring to every guest stay," Robinsons Hotels and Resorts SVP and business unit general manager Barun Jolly said in the statement.
"Our service ethos is Hospitality by Heart, and at Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort, that promise comes to life through heartfelt service, a strong sense of place, and experiences shaped by Cebu."
Laurent Betourne, general manager of Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort, said the honor also belongs to the resort team.
"Our colleagues bring warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care to every guest experience, and this is what defines Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu," Betourne said. "We are proud to share the beauty of Cebu in a seaside setting that brings together Thai-inspired graciousness, Filipino hospitality, and moments our guests remember long after they leave."
Big picture
Situated on the northern tip of the Punta Engaño Peninsula, the resort offers 272 rooms and suites overlooking Magellan Bay, alongside a 100-meter infinity pool, beachfront, Namm Spa, fitness center, kids' facilities, restaurants, and the pillarless Dusit Ballroom for conferences, weddings and other events.
The latest recognition adds to the resort's growing list of international distinctions following its Michelin Key recognition in 2025, further strengthening Robinsons Hotels and Resorts' strategy of building a hospitality portfolio anchored on distinctive destinations, service excellence and memorable guest experiences. —Ed: Corrie S.
