TCL turns TVs into digital art galleries for Filipino homes

Insider Spotlight

  • TCL is positioning televisions as lifestyle and design pieces rather than purely entertainment devices
  • The company is targeting Filipino consumers seeking premium home interiors alongside smart technology
  • The strategy comes as manufacturers compete through differentiated display technology and design features

TCL is betting that Filipino consumers are increasingly looking for televisions that blend into modern home interiors, reflecting a broader shift in purchasing decisions where aesthetics carry as much weight as technology.

The company said in a statement this trend is driving demand for displays that function both as entertainment devices and design elements.

The strategy underpins the introduction of the TCL A400 Series in the Philippines, a premium television lineup designed to combine smart display technology with gallery-inspired aesthetics.

According to the company, the series is aimed at homeowners who want televisions to complement contemporary living spaces rather than dominate them.

More than just a television, the TCL A400 Series serves as a digital canvas that effortlessly elevates any room into a personal gallery. Through its interactive Art Gallery Mode, the display gives you instant access to a massive library featuring more than 100,000 beautifully rendered artworks. | Contributed photo

Why it matters

The premium TV market has become increasingly competitive, prompting brands to differentiate beyond screen quality through industrial design, smart capabilities and lifestyle positioning.

The TCL A400 Series includes two variants: the A400 Pro with an anti-reflection Matte HVA screen and wooden frame, and the A400M with a traditional high-contrast HVA panel housed in a black frame.

Both models feature an Art Gallery Mode that gives users access to a library of more than 100,000 artworks, allowing the television to double as a digital art display when not in use.

By the numbers

TCL said the series uses its QD-Mini LED and QLED technologies to deliver more than one billion colors while improving optical efficiency, resulting in a 10 percent reduction in power consumption.

The televisions are also powered by the company's TSR AiPQ processor, which performs real-time image optimization using artificial intelligence.

"The overwhelming response since the debut of the TCL A400 Series has been nothing short of remarkable. Recognizing a growing desire among tech-savvy design enthusiasts for displays that seamlessly complement contemporary interiors, TCL delivered the perfect solution,” TCL Philippines senior product manager-brownline Maxi Chen said in the statement.

“Beyond its cutting-edge smart features, the series brings a true art gallery experience into the home. This is achieved through two distinct, premium options: the anti-reflection Matte HVA screen on the A400 Pro, and the traditional, high-contrast HVA Panel on the A400M."

The bottom line

Beyond display performance, TCL is banking on premium design, integrated ONKYO audio and art-inspired features to capture consumers looking to merge technology with interior aesthetics. The A400M will be sold exclusively through Abenson, while the A400 Pro will be available exclusively at SM Appliance Center. — Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
